" In America, as long as there have been sports to wager on, individuals have actually been betting on sports," AGA senior vice president Joe Maloney told CNN Sport in an interview.

" I live in the New York market. It's constant in terms of promotions for people to bank on sports," stated Silver just recently.


" I worry also about youths. It's, obviously, prohibited for youths to bank on sports," added the commissioner.


Ramon Zelaya, the moderator of Reddit's problem gambling forum, concurs.


" The surge of sports betting has caught the attention and engagement of younger gamblers. Folks beginning in their teenagers," Zelaya told the NCPG.


" I have actually had 16-year-olds post on the subreddit. I have actually noticed that the college age demographic tends to gravitate towards sports betting, online poker, trading cryptocurrency, that sort of thing."


Despite Silver's hand-wringing over the proliferation of sports betting advertisements, the NBA in March said it had associated Sportradar to offer NBA League Pass users with the chance to take a look at live odds throughout video games.

Porter didn't react to CNN's ask for comment when his restriction was revealed.


In late March, the NBA said it was "checking out" anomalies involving prop bets pertaining to Porter. Reportedly there were 2 specific video games in which DraftKings Sportsbook flagged prop bets including Porter in its day-to-day betting insights.


A DraftKings representative informed CNN after Porter was prohibited: "We have no remark on this story.
